JOB TITLE: Tractor-Trailer Driver
REPORTS TO: Logistics Manager
LOCATION: 21 Commerce Street, Wilmington, DE 19801


Position Summary 
The Tractor-Trailer Driver will safely and efficiently deliver finished goods, products, and materials to customers in a timely and professional manner. This Driver should be reliable, accountable, and a team player. This role requires someone who can work a flexible schedule that may range Monday – Friday, from 5:30 am to 3pm ET, with very occasional weekends and one early day per two weeks. This is a full-time position that averages 45 hours per week.                                                                                                 
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate a manual and/or automatic tractor that pulls a 53’ refrigerated trailer according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
  • Transport loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations.
  • Maneuver truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; following loading crew signals.
  • Assist with loading of or loads and unloads goods and materials, using specialized equipment when warranted, such as an electric hand jack; unloads empty skids and returns all equipment to designated area when necessary.
  • Maintain signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to shipping office or other appropriate staff when delivery route is complete.
  • Facilitate routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Manager.
  • Keep proper documentation and records required by law or management at all times
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.  Must be willing to participate in random drug screening program, MPR auditing and driver training initiatives.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.
  • Ability to remain focused in busy environment.
  • Flexible schedule that permits for off hour shifts at times. To be discussed further during interview.
Education and Experience:
  • Must hold a Class A commercial driver’s license appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated.
  • Minimum 4 years of related experience.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds at a time.
  • Must have valid physical exam as required for Class A license.
